(Of course, many of these activities could easily be enjoyed by any of our categories, so there is no need to limit yourself!)
For Families
- Make a Trip to the Beach. Boasting one of the longest Atlantic coastlines of any state in the US, Virginia is a great place for water lovers. A few of the most noteworthy beaches include Norfolk (for the historic city) the eastern shore (for its cluster of adorable beach towns) and Virginia Beach (for its well-maintained beaches and it’s incredible culinary scene.)
- Take a Local History Tour. As one of the original 13 colonies, Virginia is a fantastic place for history buffs. The Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, the dozens of local museums across the region, and Monticello, the home of founding father Thomas Jefferson are a few of the highlights, but there is much more to discover!
